July Health Momentum Guide
Simple use guide

How to use the July Health Momentum page

Use the page as a daily anchor, not as another complicated admin system. Open it once in the morning, use it lightly during the day, then tick off your progress at night.

MorningChoose your focus for the day.
DaytimeFollow the movement, food, hydration and rest cues.
EveningTick the tracker and reset for tomorrow.

The whole idea

The page is designed to help you build winter momentum through simple daily choices. It is not about perfection, punishment or looking a certain way. It is about feeling better, getting steadier, and arriving at Spring with more energy.

The main rule: do not try to use every part of the page every day. Use the daily tracker every day, then use the program sections when you need guidance.

Use it in four steps

1

Start at the top

Read the main commitment for July. Remind yourself what the month is about: energy, health, winter resilience and momentum.

2

Check the weekly target

Look at the current week and your intensity minute goal. Plan your main exercise sessions before the week gets busy.

3

Use the program tabs

Choose the section you need: Zone 2, strength, recovery, hydration, food, sleep or winter joy.

4

Tick the daily tracker

At the end of the day, tick what happened. The goal is honest tracking, not a perfect score.

The daily rhythm

  • Set up one easy win for tomorrow.

What each part is for

Section How to use it
Commitments Use these as the simple rules for July: no sugary drinks, no alcohol, more movement, better food, hydration, rest and winter joy.
Weekly exercise ramp Use this to build from 150 minutes toward 300 minutes without overdoing it too early.
Program tabs Use these when you need a session idea or a reminder of what kind of training to do.
Daily tracker This is the main habit tool. Tick it at night. It saves in your browser.
Food and hydration Use this alongside the DASH eating plan page. Keep it simple and sustainable.
Winter joy Use this to keep mental health in the plan. Daylight, warmth, social contact and small enjoyable rituals all count.

Weekly review

Once a week, spend 10 minutes checking what is working. This is where you adjust the plan instead of abandoning it.

Ask these questions

  • Did I hit my movement target?
  • Did I stay off sugary drinks and alcohol?
  • Did I sleep enough to recover?
  • Did I get outside during daylight?
  • What made me feel noticeably better?
  • What needs to become easier next week?

Adjust for next week

  • Reduce intensity if you feel beaten up.
  • Add a Zone 2 session if you feel good.
  • Move hard sessions away from busy workdays.
  • Make food easier before making it stricter.
  • Keep winter joy visible.

When the week goes sideways

The page still works when life gets messy. Use the minimum version instead of skipping everything.

Situation Minimum version
No time Do 20 minutes of walking, drink water, avoid sugary drinks and tick the tracker.
Low energy Do a recovery walk, get daylight, eat a proper meal and prioritise sleep.
Bad weather Use treadmill, indoor bike, mobility, strength or a short indoor circuit.
Missed a day Do not backfill. Restart today. One missed day is not a failed month.
Body niggle Swap impact for low-impact cardio and recovery. Keep momentum without aggravating the issue.
